About
Waad AlBawardi is a Saudi visual artist and molecular biology researcher based in Edinburgh, Scotland. Her artistic practice explores complex patterns in nature and emergent behaviours in biological and physical systems. She uses transdisciplinary approaches merging scientific methods with creative exploration, incorporating creative programming, microscopy, and experimental lab techniques to explore the unseen forces that shape our environment. As a live visual artist, she regularly collaborates with musicians to create reactive visual performances, recently working with Voka Gentle, Tara Pasveer, and Bell Lungs.
