Waad AlBawardi is a Saudi visual artist and molecular biology researcher based in Edinburgh, Scotland. Her artistic practice explores complex patterns in nature and emergent behaviours in biological and physical systems. She uses cross-disciplinary approaches merging scientific methods with creative exploration, incorporating creative programming, microscopy, and experimental lab techniques to explore the unseen forces that shape our environment. As a live visual artist, she regularly collaborates with musicians to create reactive visual performances, recently working with Voka Gentle, Tara Pasveer, and Bell Lungs.
